Dream....dream, dream, dream......

If you don't know by now, I call  my troupe of cats "clowns" and the whole lot of them "the clown car."

Lately, the little miscreants have been living up to their name.

SOOOOOOOO, I was sitting peacefully in the living room at my computer.  Missy Tee was asleep on the sofa, Lupo at my feet on the ottoman, and Zini had himself plastered against the portable heater we have in there.

Scruffy was on the top ledge of my husband's wing back chair.

I heard a "thud."  I looked up. Missy was looking up, as was Zini and Lupo.  What happened?  Where is.....Scruff?  OMIGOD!!! He fell off the chair!!!!!  Is he alright????

I got up....after the initial shock....there wasn't a single sound, by the way......and Scruffy jumped back up to the top of the chair.  THEN he became "chatty."  Meow mow.....mow mow mow....meow meee mow.  As he was "chatting" and looking straight at me (the cat who never made a sound for nearly a year!!) he got up on the ample marble windowsill and decided to lie down there.  "See?  This is better.  I can't fall down from here!"

Well!  You gave me a bit of a scare, there, fella, geez!!!

Now Mr. Chatty is napping on the windowsill, safe and sound.  Freaking clown car.

Help me! I think I'm falling...

Time for a little Fall cleaning!

We have a loveseat size sofa in the living room which opens up to a remarkably comfortable twin size bed.  The sofa itself is very sturdy, but the removable cover we put on it to protect it from the cats needed to be washed.  So did the sheets and pillowcase hidden within.

In the afternoon, 4 clowns were asleep on our bed and Missy Tee was sleeping in the dining room. Lupo had been on the hassock but when we started fussing around he disappeared.

We attacked the sofa, I got the pillow and took off the pillowcase.  Then I removed the sheets. My husband had an upholstery flea deterrent and applied that. (Just a precaution)

Then he began folding up the sofa again, which is all one piece, so you just lift and voila!

Immediately we heard an ear splitting MEEEEEEEOOOOOOOW!!!!!  Followed by that second that feels like a minute as your brain tries to catch up with what just happened.  MEOW, MEOW, MEEOOOW!!

OPEN IT!!!!!

Somehow, Lupo, the little sneak, had gotten himself somewhere inside and we had no idea!

We opened it and out he ran.  LUPO!!!  LOOP!!! I went after him to make sure he was alright (the sofa, though small, is VERY sturdy and heavy). I caught up with him and picked him up.  He was not at all interested in being in my arms, but I was able to quickly check his legs to make sure nothing was broken.

Back in the living room, I noticed that the pillow that has a storage pocket inside the sofa, was still out.  We had forgotten to put it back.  I think that is what saved him since it gave him just a little bit of room and thank goodness, Lupo is a small cat.

An hour and a half later, the little jerk was back in my lap.  All is well in the clown car.

Rain...I don't mind

Our relentless heat wave finally came to an abrupt end.  One day it was still hot, dry summer and the next...RAIN!  And with that...lower t...
