Percy got freaked out by having a homeless kitten inside for a couple of days (in a cage), as we waited for adoptive parents. The very lucky little boy got a terrific home and Percy got a prescription for a tranquilizer.
He is doing much better, but he has to be force-fed the medication. We crush it and add a little water, then suck it into an eyedropper. My husband has to hold Percy by the scruff of his neck as the medication is squirted down Percy's throat. It isn't pleasant, but it works. He refused to eat when I crushed the pill into his food. They are tiny, too...just as small as the tiny bit of asthma medication that Scruffy takes EVERYDAY!!!
Anyway, Percy is noticeably calmer. He "relaxes" more and plays more nicely with his fellow clowns. I have even noticed Scruff and Missy Tee giving him sweet kisses. They all know he is feeling more tranquil.
And speaking of tranquil....Calzini has suddenly decided to act more like a regular house cat! Is is just the passage of time or is it calm Percy? I don't know, but Zini was LITERALLY in my husband's lap the other night. This is a first!!! He has come near, thought about and ultimately decided to settle down somewhere else, but two nights ago...voila!!
Then last night he settled down on my chair right next to me!! He is the ONLY holdout. Once he gets more accustomed to hanging out in laps I will then try to pick him up. THAT is the final frontier!
